TLC Solutions is seeking a talented SENIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR to join our team.

SENIOR NETWORK ADMINISTRATORS are the technical team members responsible for the Network topology to our valued clients. Some involvement in project scope, management and deliver is required. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager and works Monday to Friday from 8am-5pm PST.

Essential responsibilities

• Resolve Tier 3 support issues as escalated by Client Systems Technicians and Client Systems Administrators
• Installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of servers, switches, routers, firewalls and other hardware and software
• Take appropriate technical actions to ensure satisfaction and timely resolution
• Prepare project proposals for both new and existing clients
• Assess IT environments for strengths and weaknesses
• Monitor all client issues and system faults, identifying trends and patterns and make recommendations to relevant team members, covering both technology and internal processes
• Ensure that all work is carried out and documented in accordance with existing standards, methods and procedures
• Use any opportunity to inform and educate users on best practices with regards to existing technology, create educational and support materials
• Research and seek software updates, settings, configuration, known issues, new solutions in order to aid in problem resolution
• Conduct onsite service trips as required; some travel may be required
• Assist TLC Solutions to continue to develop an innovative IT Consulting and Management company
• Provide exceptional customer service to all clients and potential clients
• Prioritize tickets based on severity and impact
• Participate in various projects, as assigned
• Continuous improvement of self through workshops, certifications, job shadows etc.

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum 5 years of customer service experience
• Minimum of 5 year of help desk experience or education or a combination of both
• Undergraduate degree, with preference for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Administration or BCIT diploma
• MCSA Certification preferred
• CCNA Certification Required
• Experience or certifications in Palo Alto Networks
• Experience or certifications in Aruba Networks switching, routing, and wireless technologies
• Experience with dynamic routing protocols (OSPF/BGP)
• Experienced with VLANs and loop prevention tactics
• VMware and Hyper-V clustering experience
• Experience or certifications in Juniper
• Strong knowledge of Virtualization specifically Hyper-V technology
• Apple experience or comfortability an asset
• Strong ability to multitask
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Proactive hands-on, roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done attitude
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to work independently and as a team, self-starter and energetic
• Bring a positive attitude and outlook to an already thriving positive culture
• Contributor to a positive and results oriented team environment
• Curious, with a desire to understand and learn
• Good time management, organization and priority defining skills
• Exceptional ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships with all levels in the organization
• Exceptional ability to listen, communicate (written and oral) and collaborate
• Successful completion of Criminal Background Check
• Clean driving record and ability to produce a drivers abstract and claims history letter
• Legally allowed to work in Canada
